At Washington we encourage everyone to follow our Eagle Norms: be responsible, be respectful and be a problem solver. We like to recognize students who follow the norms by awarding Eagle Tickets and recognizing students at assemblies. If students are not following the norms, they will receive a Think Sheet. Please continue reading to find out more about about Eagle Tickets, themes, assemblies, and Think Sheets.
Eagle Tickets
When students exemplify one of our Eagle norms, they can be rewarded with an Eagle Ticket. Students turn in the Eagle Ticket to their teacher. On Friday one student per class is randomly chosen to win a prize from the front office.
Monthly Themes
Each month we will focus on a different theme. Students will learn about the theme in their classrooms and lessons.
August - Respect November - Gratitude February - Kindness
September - Empathy December - Generosity March - Problem Solver
October - Teamwork January - Responsible April - Confidence
Amazing Eagle Assemblies
The last Wednesday of every month we will be honoring one student from each classroom that exemplifies the monthly theme. The week prior to the assembly parent(s)/guardian(s) will be notified if their child has been nominated. They are welcome to come to the assembly to see their child honored.
Behavior and Homework Think Sheets
If students are not following the norms or completing homework they will fill out a Think Sheet. The Think Sheet gives students an opportunity to write about and reflect on their behavior. If a student receives multiple Think Sheets, the following will happen:
Behavior Think Sheets
● 3 Think Sheets = phone call from teacher
● 4 Think Sheets = phone call from principal
● 5 Think Sheets = plan in place
Homework Think Sheets
● 3 days of missing assignments = note home
● 5 days of missing assignments= phone call from teacher
● 7 days of missing assignments = phone call from principal
● 10 days of missing assignments = plan in place
